How much harder is the ACT than the SAT?

I know this question has been asked many times, but I want to let some of you get points (not that it matters). So I've taken the SAT twice before and I know the standard procedures. An essay, multiple choice math, grid-in math, reading, and writing. Every wrong answer is - 1/4... blah blah blah. I'm not so familiar with the ACT though. I have never taken it, and it isn't required (since I live in California). I don't exactly remember if the essay is required, but I know for sure that I will be writing an essay anyways. I've heard on quite a few occasions that the SAT was harder and the ACT just had more questions focused on grammar and trigonometry (trig might have been on the SAT, not fully sure). On the SAT, I've scored roughly in the low to mid 500s for critical reading and writing and low 700s for math. How well do you think I will do?(I can provide more detailed information if need be.)Thank you!
