Examples and Quotes about Why it is Good that Jane left Mr. Rochester (Jane Eyre)?

I have to write a Jane Eyre short essay and it has to do with our opinions on whether it was right for Jane to leave Mr. Rochester. I will be writing that it is right for Jane to leave Mr. Rochester but I need more examples and quotes to back up my thesis that it was right for her to leave him. Can anyone please help me out by listing some evidence or just complete opinions as to why it was beneficial that she left. Thanks!

Well…..In a nutshell she left to satisfy her morality. The morals that she grew up with told her that it would be wrong to be the mistress of a married man and as much as she loved Rochester she loved God (and herself!) more than she did him. She also felt that if she stayed he would eventually grow to despise her as he had with women in his past. She wanted to do what was right in the eyes of God and man, also the moral atmosphere at that time frowned on a woman in an adulterous relationship even more so than today……….so she chose to be true to herself and stand up to morality instead of being a victim of love.
